Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FF Chat handles information when you use the FF Chat application and related services. FF Chat is a messaging service that allows users to communicate through private chats, groups, channels, contacts, and other communication features.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, FF Chat may collect and process:
- Account information: such as your name and email address when you create or manage an account.
- Messages and user content: messages and other content you send or share through FF Chat.
- Photos and videos: images or videos you choose to upload, send, or share.
- Other user-generated content: content you create in chats, groups, channels, profiles, or other FF Chat features.
- User identifiers: account-related identifiers, including usernames where applicable, necessary to operate your account and provide app functionality.
- Online status information: information used to indicate whether you are currently online, subject to your privacy settings.
- Contacts and connection information: information necessary to manage contacts, private chat requests, blocks, and connections between FF Chat users.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to provide and operate FF Chat, including creating and authenticating accounts, delivering messages and content, enabling private chats, groups, channels and contacts, providing username search functionality, displaying online status according to user settings, managing blocks and connection requests, maintaining functionality, providing security, preventing abuse, and supporting users.
3. User-Generated Content
FF Chat allows users to create and share content with other users. You are responsible for content you send, upload, publish, or share. Content may be visible to other users depending on the feature, audience, and privacy settings you select.
Content shared in groups or public channels may remain available to other users as necessary for the continuity and operation of those conversations, including after an account is deleted as described below.
4. Photos, Videos and Messages
FF Chat processes messages, photos, videos, and other content as necessary to provide messaging and sharing functionality. We do not use this content for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
5. Voice and Video Calls
FF Chat provides voice and video calling features between users. When you start or receive a call, FF Chat may use your device microphone for voice communication and, for video calls, your device camera to provide live video communication.
Microphone and camera access is used only when required to provide the calling features and is subject to the permissions you grant through your device. You can manage camera and microphone permissions through your device settings.
Call Media and WebRTC
FF Chat uses WebRTC technology for voice and video calls. Where technically possible, call audio and video are transmitted directly between the participating devices using a peer-to-peer (P2P) connection.
If a direct peer-to-peer connection cannot be established because of network conditions, a TURN relay server may be used to relay the call media between the participating devices as necessary to establish and maintain the call.
FF Chat does not record or store the audio or video content of voice or video calls as part of the calling feature.
Call Signaling and Technical Information
To establish, route, maintain, and end a call, FF Chat processes technical information necessary for call signaling and operation. This may include account identifiers of the participants, call identifiers, call type, call status, signaling information, and technical network information required by WebRTC and related communication infrastructure.
This technical information is used to provide the calling functionality, deliver incoming-call notifications, establish connections, maintain service reliability, and help protect the service against abuse.
6. Usernames and Search Visibility
FF Chat may allow users to create or activate a unique username. If you enable the option that allows other users to find you, other FF Chat users may search for your account using your username.
You can control whether other users are allowed to find you through username search from the privacy options available on your profile page. If this search option is disabled, your account will not be made discoverable through the username search functionality provided by FF Chat.
Username Reservation After Account Deletion
If you have activated a username and later delete your FF Chat account, that username will remain permanently reserved. A permanently reserved username will not become available for registration or use by another user.
The username will also not automatically become available to you if you later create a new FF Chat account. Account deletion does not release or reactivate previously reserved usernames.
7. Online Status
Online status is enabled by default when using FF Chat. Your online status may therefore be visible to other users unless you disable the Online Status option in your profile privacy settings.
You can change this setting through your profile page. When online-status visibility is disabled, FF Chat will apply your selected privacy preference to the online-status information displayed to other users.
8. Blocking Users
FF Chat allows users to block other users at any time, including users with whom they have previously communicated through a private chat.
When you block another user, the blocked user will no longer be able to find, view, search for, or contact you through FF Chat. Blocking is intended to prevent further direct interaction between the blocked user and the user who initiated the block.
You may remove a user from your blocked list and unblock them at any time through the available account or privacy controls. Unblocking a user removes the block restriction but does not automatically create or restore permission for private communication where separate approval or a private chat request is required.
9. Contacts
FF Chat provides a Contacts feature that helps users manage their connections within the application.
When a user sends a private chat request and the other user accepts that request, FF Chat automatically adds each user to the other user's Contacts page. Either user may remove the other user from their Contacts list at any time by using the available delete/remove control.
Removing someone from your Contacts list does not necessarily delete previous messages or other content already exchanged between the users.
Contacts Through Groups
Members of an FF Chat group may see the other members who participate in that group. A group member may add another member of the same group to their own FF Chat Contacts list using the available contact functionality.
However, adding another group member to a Contacts list does not automatically grant permission to start or continue private communication with that person. Where FF Chat requires approval for private communication, the other user must still approve the applicable private chat request before private communication can take place.
Membership in the same group, or adding a group member to Contacts, does not override another user's privacy settings, blocking choices, or private-chat approval requirements.
10. Tracking and Advertising
FF Chat does not use your name, email address, messages, photos, videos, or other user content to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes. FF Chat does not sell personal information to advertisers.
11. Sharing of Information
Information may be processed by service providers when necessary to operate, secure, maintain, or support FF Chat. We may also disclose information when required by applicable law or legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of FF Chat, our users, or others.
12. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
13. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide FF Chat, maintain account functionality, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and protect the service.
Certain information or content may continue to be retained after account deletion where necessary for the operation of the service or for legitimate security, legal, or compliance purposes. This includes permanently reserved usernames and, where applicable, messages previously sent to group conversations as described below.
14. Account and Data Deletion
You can delete your FF Chat account directly from within the application without contacting FF Chat.
To delete your account, open your Profile page and select Delete Account.
When you delete your account, your account will be removed subject to information that must or may be retained for legitimate operational, security, legal, or compliance purposes.
Messages in Groups After Account Deletion
Deleting your account does not automatically delete messages that you previously sent in group conversations. Messages previously sent to groups may remain visible to other members of those groups in order to preserve the continuity of the conversation.
After the account is deleted, the deleted user's name will no longer be displayed with those retained group messages. Instead, the sender will be displayed as “User”.
Usernames After Account Deletion
If your deleted account had an activated username, that username remains permanently reserved and cannot be registered or reused by another user. It also cannot automatically be reclaimed by you if you later create a new FF Chat account.
15. Channels and Public Content
FF Chat allows users to create and operate channels. Before creating a channel, the channel creator must agree to the applicable channel terms and requirements presented by FF Chat.
Channel creators and authorized publishers are responsible for the content they publish through their channels and must not use FF Chat channels to publish unlawful, abusive, harmful, or otherwise prohibited content.
FF Chat may review publicly accessible channel content when a channel is reported or when review is reasonably necessary to enforce our rules, protect users, or maintain the safety and integrity of the service.
FF Chat reserves the right to restrict, block, or remove access to a public channel if, following review, we determine that the channel contains abusive, prohibited, unlawful, or otherwise unacceptable content.
Reporting a Channel
Any user who believes that a public FF Chat channel contains abusive, harmful, prohibited, or otherwise inappropriate content may report the channel directly to FF Chat at info@ff-chat.app.
FF Chat will review reported public-channel content and may take appropriate action based on the content and circumstances. If a channel is determined to contain content that violates applicable rules or requirements, FF Chat may block or otherwise restrict access to the channel.
16. Children's Privacy
FF Chat takes the privacy and safety of younger users seriously.
FF Chat is intended only for users who meet the minimum age required to use online services and provide consent to the processing of personal information under the laws applicable in their country or region.
Users who do not meet the applicable minimum age requirement must not create or use an FF Chat account unless their use is permitted by applicable law and, where required, authorized by a parent or legal guardian.
Information About Children
FF Chat does not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. Users are expected to provide accurate information when creating and using their accounts and must comply with the applicable age requirements.
If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child who was not legally permitted to use FF Chat, we may take appropriate action, including restricting or deleting the account and deleting or otherwise handling associated personal information as required by applicable law.
Certain content previously shared with other users, such as messages sent in group conversations, may remain as described in the Account and Data Deletion section of this Privacy Policy.
Communication and Public Features
FF Chat includes communication features such as private chats, groups, contacts, username search, and public channels. Depending on a user's settings and participation in these features, other users may be able to find, view, or interact with the user.
Private communication remains subject to FF Chat's applicable request, approval, privacy, and blocking features. Users can block other users when they no longer wish to allow interaction, as described in the Blocking Users section of this Privacy Policy.
Parents and Legal Guardians
If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a child under your responsibility is using FF Chat in violation of applicable age requirements, or that FF Chat has collected personal information from that child inappropriately, please contact us.
We will review the request and may take appropriate steps to investigate, restrict or remove the relevant account, and handle associated personal information in accordance with applicable law.
Parents and legal guardians may contact us regarding children's privacy or safety concerns at contact@ff-chat.app.
When contacting us, please provide sufficient information to allow us to identify and review the relevant account or issue. For privacy and security reasons, we may need to verify the identity or authority of the person making the request before taking action.
Safety and Reporting
Users, parents, and legal guardians may report inappropriate, abusive, or potentially harmful conduct involving FF Chat users or public channels.
Reports concerning public channels or inappropriate public content may be sent to info@ff-chat.app. FF Chat may review reported content and take appropriate action, including restricting access to content, blocking a public channel, or restricting or removing an account where appropriate.
17. International Use
FF Chat may be available in multiple countries and regions. Information may be processed in countries other than the country in which you live, subject to applicable data-protection requirements.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as FF Chat evolves or as legal and operational requirements change. Updates will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date.
